Tips to Win a Free Seat at the World Series of Mahjong

【Hong Kong – May 14, 2007】 The first annual World Series of Mahjong, organized by the World Mahjong Limited (WML), will be held from June 15th to 17th , 2007 at the fabulous Wynn Macau resort. 2007世界麻雀大会
麻雀王は香港人だった

三日間の麻雀大会（マカオ）は6月18日（0030）にをもちまして終了しました。プライヤー数は265人です。参加者は中国、香港、マカオ、台湾、日本、アメリカなどいろいろな国籍でした。そのなかに、8割は香港の人です。大会は夜おそく終わったが、みんな帰らずにそのまま成績を待っていました。主催者World Mahjong Limitedは成績を発表しました。2007世界麻雀大会の優勝のかたは香港から来たHUI Chung-Laiです。50年の麻雀歴も持ってる彼は結局大会で423.11の高得点も取りました。チャンピオンになって　司会Philip Chan 、CEO John Hardymentから　＄500000賞金も手に入れました。2位と3位も香港人です。4位は台湾の女優選手YU Chieh-Pingでした。

優勝者HUI Chung-Laiは自分は運が良かったと思いました。試合の最初は得点が3位（Lisa LAU）よりも低かったので優勝なんでありえないと考えたけど、次のラウンドでポイントをたくさん集めたためもっと上位になりました。HUI Chung-Lai（62）はむかしデザイナーだった。麻雀が大好きでいつも友人と打ってる人です。麻雀大会は三日間も経ったので疲れました。それでも笑顔を出して言った‘生まれるまえにおれはもう麻雀を習得した’大会がおわった後、ずいぶん休憩をしてから家族と旅行したいです。台湾の女優YU Chieh-Pingもすごくうれしかったです。優勝ではなかったけど台湾の一番強いプレイヤーとして決戦に入りました、感動的です。母LI Yeh-Pingは決戦に入れなくてもむすめのそばで応援しました。4位になったYU Chieh-Pingは賞金の半分をお母さんにあげて残りは慈善に施しする予定です。

一日目、だれでも平気にやっていました。休憩の間にみんな麻雀に関してしゃべたり笑ったりしました。二日目から雰囲気は相当かわりました。みんな緊張するようになりました。理由は、負け続けた選手はアウトされることです。結局32人だけ残った時点にはすくなくとも賞金を＄5000入手できたものです。みんな冷静に分析して決戦の32人になるためがんばりました。二日目及び三日目、大会の終了時間は午後10時の予定なんですけど、深夜までやりました。最後の日は、16人だけ残りました。そのなかに香港、中国、台湾、マカオ、デンマークなどの選手が入っていました。ドイツの選手Niels Torben Hansenはトップしたこともあります。すなわち注目されました。残念なのに次のラウンドで香港の選手に破れて敗退しました。それなのに7位になったNiels Torben Hansenは＄15000も賞金を入手しました。ほかの注目点は台湾のあるテレビ番組のマスターHSU Nai-Linです。HSU Nai-Linは決戦にはいりましたが、中国のSung Pingに負けました。Sung Pingは2006中国日本麻雀大会の優勝者で中国麻雀リーグの代表です。HSU Nai-Linは結局12位になって＄5000をゲットしました。自信満々だったのに優勝できなかったHSU Nai-Linはとても失望しました。二日目最初は256人もいましたが最後、4人しか残りませんでしたのでとても激しかった対戦です。緊張感いっぱいだった。成績が決まったら拍手の声がパーと出ました。

2007世界麻雀大会はWorld Mahjong Ltdが開催しました。World Mahjong Ltdは、さまざまなメディアグループが集まって創立した会社です。本部はアジアにあります。国際的なアミューズメントイベントを開催する組織です。来年も世界各地からトップ選手を招待して2008世界麻雀大会を開催する予定です、もっと大きな規模の試合を計画したいです。今年の大会のトップ8名は来年の招待対象になります。来年でも21才以上であれば初心者でもエキスパートでもご参加を大歓迎します。大会詳細及び試合ルールについてはhttp://www.mahjongjp.comでご覧になってください。
